Melaina Laurent

Melaina Laurent is a film and television professional working across casting, acting, and production. Graduating in spring  Columbia College Chicago with a degree in Cinema and Television Production, she brings hands-on experience both in front of the camera and behind the scenes, with a focus on casting and creative development.

Her work spans casting for narrative short films, acting in student and independent productions, and assisting across multiple areas of film production. She has developed a strong eye for performance and storytelling through her experience working closely with directors, actors, and creative teams to build authentic, character-driven work.

Alongside her film practice, Melaina currently works as a Student Programming Intern for Student Activities at Columbia College Chicago, where she contributes to campus events and programming initiatives. She will continue building her industry experience as a Talent Agent Assistant at Babes N Beaus through Summer 2026, and will be based in New York beginning Fall 2026.

With a multi-hyphenate approach to the industry, Melaina is focused on growing her career in casting, acting, and film production while continuing to explore opportunities that connect performance with storytelling across mediums.
